Whoo boy, I think senkaimon  's seen more traffic the past 12 hours than it has in it's entire conception :D (That's a good thing!) And all the fics for this round really, really rock. I really enjoy doing this, and I've gotten a better apprication for Chad as a character. It's difficult to write for quiet characters, especially one who, now that I've noticed, hasn't been particularly well-developed beyond being another Ichigo cheerleader. Not too long ago at bleachness , debbbiechan remakred how he's been comapred as this show's Krillin for years. I don't watch DBZ and don't have a clue who the character is, but if that's code for "Sidekick who doesn't get showcased nearly as much as he should have," it's damn time Kubo remedied that. And then get to doing something about Isshin's backstory plz, kthnxbye

I'm even more glad that thus far no one's flaked out at the last minute (the only person who stepped down having RL health issues), which means I won't have to eliminate too many pairings off my list...so more fun and goodies in the later rounds *Evil grins*

So, after the epic meltdown following the publication of Breaking Dawn, I find out about the Twilight series. And about how much people either love this book to death or want to wipe their asses with it when they tired of reading it.

( Cut for spoilers, in case someone is readin this book. And my apologies to anyone who is a fan of this series. )

TLDR. I do feel bad for the fans who found the last book to be a kick in the gut. I know what that's like to have a finale that comes out of completely nowhere and tanks everything about the series that you loved.

Either way, I'm glad my friend is big into the vampire genre, so I didn't have to pay a dime to SMeyer or wait two years at the public library for a copy.

So I got to see the new Trek movie on Sunday. First time I've ever gotten to watch a Trek movie in the theatre (something I didn't think I'd have the chance to do after the dismal failure of "Nemesis"), and I gotta say it was pretty cool.

Since just about everyone on my F-list has posted this in the last month and I got a drabble from libekory :

The first ten people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing / character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability. If you absolutely cannot write, I do not see why you would not be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.

If you've forgotten who I am, I'm not surprised. I know I've mentioned to a few of you that my Internet was abruptly cut off last summer--which given the start of a few new comms I had started, came at a pretty bad time. Comcast cost way too much to justify keeping it any longer. Now I've got AT&T, which in spite of the DSL horror stories that I've heard about in the past, runs like a dream.

( So, a few thoughts and discoveries about things in the real world )

So there was a post in haruomi  's journal which lead to a discussion on wanting to open a really ship-neutral Bleach comm. Since I spend far too much time online than I'd care to admit, I'd be willing to try opening and moderating such a place, but I wanted to get some input from everyone reading this on what things they enjoy about their favorite comms and things that they really, really hate. (Yay for non fandom-centric entry!)

I really need to get new icons. I love all the ones I have, but 15 just aren't enough sometimes., especially when most of them are in a fandom I'm not so big in anymore. :( </b></a>

So some backstory on me, since I realize I've never talked much about myself in this journal: A long time ago, I was into Trek--mostly, the newer series Enterprise that aired on UPN and was cancelled after four seasons for low ratings. My first fanfics were on that series and Voyager--most of it stuff that I would snark on GAFF or badfic_quotes now if I'd not written it. The last one I  wrote was in 2004, and the last time I was a regualr poster at my main Trek board was early last year.

But all that in mind, I did have a random thought pop into mind a few days ago--in the 22 to 24th centuries where so many Star Trek series take place...could a Death Note kill a non-human, like a Vulcan or a Romulan? *is unsure* Vulcans and their 200 earth-year life spans would be a big power-up to any Shinigami, no?

 I remember reading somewhere that the author of the series had considered the idea of the Death Note taking many forms over the course of human history such as a scroll for ancient Japan, or something resembling the Old Testament in Medieval Europe. It isn't that much of a stretch to think that the rules could be amended to be a bit more inclusive, if need be, since with many non-humans moving in, there are that many moving out and all over the galaxy, and I doubt the Shinigami who are too lazy to write simple names in a book would be willing to fly out into space to kill humans.

God, I wish more Trek fans knew of this series. I think this is by far one of my better ideas for a Trek fanfic...moreso than the horrid Archer/T'Pol stuff I used to write.

Being a dumbass, I decided to take a peek at ff.net's Bleach forum sections, and into the shipper foray. This fandom's known for it's shipper wank, and I knew that having to see at least three or four IchiRuki trolls fly through Fanfic Rants to piss and moan about people shipping Ichigo/Orihime.

This rant, however, isn't about that, but of one comment I read concerning Byakuya/Rukia.
*facepalm*

I gotta love how stupid fandom is, and even moreso when shipping's thrown in the mix. I wished there was a comm called ship_quotes or something along the lines of badfic_quotes where I could post the many stupid things I've read in my various fandoms where shipping's concerned (Biggest offenders on that list would be Harry Potter, Star Trek Enterprise, Digimon, NANA, Bleach, and Yugioh in that order).  Being a GAFFer, I know I'm not alone in those sentiments on crazy ass fans, although for the most part Bleach's Wacky Shipper Hijinx(tm) seem to be contained in threads/comms designed for that purpose. At the height of Enterprise's popularity it was all but impossible to avoid this, and I even remember seeing a thread on warp nacells turn into a shipper pissfest. Warp. Fucking. Nacelles.

There does seem to be some hope. In NANA fandom, the rabid Reira bashers seemed to have calmed down like whoa after last month's release. Now here's a character that I could completely understand fans not liking, but people go on to Make Shit Up(TM), and even more irritatingly, give her other partner in crime Takumi a free pass. Water under the bridge now, I hope.
